LegoLand Heart Rate & Blood Pressure
Exercise is not the only way you can increase your heart rate and blood pressure. Many factors can and will increase these, such as Caffeine - Smoking - Chocolate, but if you really want to see some big spikes up and down in your heart rate, then look at going up and down at a theme park ride such as Lego Land Windsor.
Lego Land Windsor as with most theme parks will provide you with a multitude of rides, all designed to provide you with a fun day out.
One of the biggest problems with such theme parks like Lego Land are the fact that you can be spending up to an hour standing in a queue, which will cause your heart rate to be close to its resting.
This is fine for a fit and healthy individual, however if you suffer with high blood pressure, have had a previous heart attack or any proven heart disease or condition, then you should look at avoiding theme park rides that will cause both your heart rate and blood pressure to spike irregularly.
To test this theory, myself and fit son decided to try a number of different rides at Lego Land to see what changes these placed on our bodies heart rate and my B.P. We also decided to repeat the test after lunch, so to see if its more to do with the anticipation of the ride and to determine if eating would also increase the B.P. to rise.
The following table gives a breakdown of our results for 7 different rides that we managed to get on twice. The first 3 reading are for a fit 40 year old and the final 3 are for an active 5 year old boy.
No B.P. result was taken on the Extreme Team, but the walk up the hill will certainly increase your heart rate and blood pressure, just enjoy getting wet as you go down.

A great day was had at Lego Land, however care should be taken by anyone who suffers from either low or high blood pressure or any heart condition, as you will find some rapid increase in both of these.
My biggest increase was on the Fire Academy ride, here your pumping a Fire Engine, which when your working with a 5 year year old, can be very hard.
Repeating the rides after a very big lunch, did increase the Blood Pressure, however as expected the heart rate was not as high, as the fear factor had been removed, but the starting heart rate was higher probably due to the fact that less time was spent in the que.
If you have an active child, then I would suggest the Pirate Training Camp to let them burn off steam.
